Having a new baby can be very exciting! It also brings great responsibility. One of the first decisions you have to make as a parent is where your new baby will sleep. Here are some questions to ask when shopping for a new baby crib.
Is it safe?

Baby cribs must meet certain US Safety Standards to be sold in the US. Make sure your new crib is meeting the standards enforced by the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC).
· There should be no missing parts or broken slats.
· Slats should be no more than a soda can's distance apart (2 & 3/8")
· Corner posts should not be higher than 1/16"
· There should be no design cutouts in the headboard or footboard
Is it good Quality?
Even though your crib of choice may be safe, it should also be durable. Hard woods are of the highest quality and will provide the most longevity for your new baby crib. In addition, hard woods are more likely to hold in the screws (unlike some soft woods). Some of the highest quality types of wood to look for are: Maple, Birch, Oak, Ash, and Beechwood.
How Much Should I Pay?
Well, as with anything, prices can vary greatly. Typical prices range from 0 to 0. How much you pay does NOT necessarily mean that you will be getting a higher quality or longer lasting crib. You may only be getting a brand name. So, make sure that you do thorough research into the crib itself before making a purchase.
